Born and raised in Malaysia, Joshua is a PhD student based in the Research School of Physics at the Australian National University. He received his M. Phil in Materials Engineering from University of Malaya, Malaysia and his B. Eng (Hons) Electronics Engineering majoring in Nanotechnology from Multimedia University, Malaysia prior to his commencement of studies in Australia in 2019.

Joshua’s current research interests are related to water-splitting electrocatalysts and their possible integration with semiconductors for photoelectrochemical water splitting technologies. He also has a keen interest in public science communication and delving in multi-disciplinary approaches to solve environmental problems of the day.
